Content Assessment Rubric
Level 6 : Superior - comprehensive, very accurate, analytical, sophisticated logic, incisive, persuasive
Level 5 : Strong - generally convincing, sufficiently analytical and logical
Level 4 : Adequate - OK, basically understands, unsophisticated but gets and makes the point, lacking mastery but still in control, limited scope, occasionally original
Level 3 : Less than Adequate - superficial, lacking understanding, non-academic, undigested, unfinished or in need of revision, underdeveloped, missing the target, perfunctory
Level 2 : Very Poor - sketchy, impaired, profoundly deficient, woeful, inappropriate to the assignment, poorly developed
Level 1 : Unacceptable - no understanding, totally lost, unintelligible, simplistic, unconnected to the question, assignment or promt
Critical Thinking Paper
purpose : to develop a Learning Community amongst our Paralegal Students, and develop eportfolios of written papers which are intelligent, persuasive, and demonstrate critical thinking skills
implementation : each class during the Spring and Fall Semesters will have as its final assignment in class a "Critical Thinking Paper". The format will be uniform amongst the entire paralegal program. Students, faculty, and tutors will assist in this project. At the end of the semester each class will select the two best papers which will be presented at the "Mission College Paralegal Critical Thinking Paper Showcase" at the end of the Spring Semester each year, and the recipients will receive an award for their presentation.
